Hello all the people of Stella Maris Parish!
My name is Fr. Eric G Sternberg and I have the happy honor of becoming your new Pastor. While this assignment came as a surprise to me, and probably to all of you, I am filled with joy to serve with Fr. Mark Foley and Fr. Matt Pearson in this wonderful new parish and cast out into the deep waters and let down our nets for a catch (Luke 5:4.)
I am 47 years old and grew up in Prairie du Sac, WI in a family of five - Mom & Dad, me and two younger brothers. I graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1996; I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point; I graduated from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake = Mundelein Seminary with a Bachelor in Sacred Theology and was ordained a priest in May 2005.
This is my 20th year as a priest and I have had the following assignments: Parochial Vicar, Saint John the Baptist, Waunakee 2005 - 2008; Priest in-solidum, Saint Paul Catholic Student Center, Madison 2008 - 2013, Pontifical Athaneum of San Anselmo, Rome 2013-2014; Pastor, Saint Cecilia, Wisconsin Dells 2014 - 2023, Pastor, Saint Paul Catholic Student Center, Madison 2023 - 2025.
My vision is, and always has been, found in the Apostolic Letter of Saint John Paul II, Novo Millenio Inuente #43 which reads, in part, “A spirituality of communion indicates above all the heart's contemplation of the mystery of the Trinity dwelling in us, and whose light we must also be able to see shining on the face of the brothers and sisters around us.”
Please know how much I look forward to meeting all of you and working to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

75th Anniversary of IHM Church
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the original shrine of Our Lady of the Green Scapular. Custom-made 10-inch replica statues of Our Lady of the Green Scapular will be sold for $75 each (payment by cash or check) after 10:30 Mass at IHM on July 13.
Summer Adoration and Vespers
On Wednesdays and continuing through July, there will be Adoration and Vespers at IHM every Wednesday from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Exposition will take place at 6:30pm with Vespers beginning at 7:00pm.
