Mark your calendars and plan to join us in a special celebration marking the 75th anniversary of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Monona and the original shrine of Our Lady of the Green Scapular.

This grace-filled retreat and celebration will be held on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Saturday, June 28 from 8:00am - 1:00pm. During this Jubilee Year of Hope, we invite you to take part in this beautiful morning of prayer, reflection and fellowship.

The retreat agenda will include Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Donald Hying, a guest speaker, Adoration and prayer, and opportunities for the Sacrament of Confession. A detailed schedule will be coming soon.

Mass for the Election of a Pope
8:30am Mass on Tuesday, May 6 at IHM will be offered as a Mass for the Election of a Pope to pray for the next Successor of St. Peter and Bishop of Rome. Please come and pray for the College of Cardinals and our next Pope!

Trustee Election

We will be holding an election for new parish trustees. The parish civil corporation includes two lay parishioners - known as Trustees - along with the Diocesan Bishop, Vicar General and Pastor. The term of each position is two years, which may be renewable. We currently have two nominated candidates. Any active parishioner over the age of 21 who would like to add their name to the ballot should contact our office before May 18 to discuss other qualifications.

This month's newsletter features seminarian Casey Cooney. Casey will be ordained as transitional deacon at 6pm on May 16 at IHM church. Mark your calendars!

2025 Wedding Anniversary Mass
Couples celebrating 25, 50, 55, 60+ years of marriage—or their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd anniversary—in 2025 are invited to a special Mass of Thanksgiving with Bishop Hying on August 24 at St. Francis Xavier, Cross Plains. Cake and coffee reception to follow. This is an invitation-only event. Please contact our office 608-221-1521 by May 16 to have your name submitted.

News Related to Tanzania Sister Parish
1) The Lenten Almsgiving for St. Benedict Parish-Ilungu, Tanzania, has exceeded $16,000 thus far! Members of the Sister Parish Initiative Committee would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to our pastorate - children and adults, for the generosity and support shown to our needy brothers and sisters in Ilungu.
2) The August visit to our Sister Parish has been cancelled, due to a family health issue. The Sister Parish Committee apologizes for this development and is making plans for a future trip.

Spring Food Collection

SVdP conferences at IHM and CTK will be sponsoring a Spring Food Collection at all churches this weekend. Non-perishable donations can be dropped off at the entry of churches and will be distributed at the SVdP Food Pantry in Madison.

Learning the Rosary & Rosary Sales
Barb Kroda of Mary’s Rosary Assemblers will offer a brief session on the Rosary, including the History, the 15 Promises, the Mysteries, and How to Pray the Rosary, in coordination with the Rosary Sales after Mass: CTK - May 3/4, IHM - May 10/11, and SP - May 17/18. Rosaries and informational materials will be provided. All are welcome (individuals, families, etc.) Watch for signs as to the location at each site.

St. Anne Society Meeting

All women of Stella Maris are invited to St. Anne's May 6 meeting at 5:30pm in Marian Hall, IHM. They will be having a "Baby Shower" to benefit Babies & Beyond and potluck dinner. See flyer for details.

Prayer Shawl Meeting
The St. Patrick Prayer Shawl Ministry monthly meeting will be May 7 at 9am in the parish center. Questions, contact Gail at 608.219.2072. The CTK prayer shawl meeting is May 14 at 1:30pm.

Mother’s Day Roses
May 10/11 honor your mother and support moms in need! Beautiful roses will be available after Masses. Your generous donations provide grants to Dane County organizations to help mothers care for their children. Thank you for spreading joy this Mother’s Day!

Seven Sisters Apostolate
The Seven Sisters Apostolate are women who dedicate one hour a week on a designated day to pray for one of our priests for a period of one year. We are gathering on May 17 after the 9am Mass at IHM in the lower level of the church for a light brunch and short meeting. If you are a part of this ministry, a sub, or would like to know more to become part of the Seven Sisters, you’re invited to come. Please RSVP to Patti 608-334-0968.

Transitional Diaconate Ordination Reception

St. Anne's will be coordinating a reception after the Transitional Diaconate Ordination Mass on May 16 in IHM Marian Hall. Mass at IHM begins at 7pm with the reception after Mass (around 8:45pm) They need volunteers to help with the event and food donations. Sign up HERE. Monetary donations made out to St. Anne's can be placed in the collection baskets during Mass. Please label the envelope "St. Anne's ordination reception" These funds will be used to purchase cake, punch, coffee, and plates/silverware for the event. Luke House - May
The churches within our pastorate prepare and serve meals at the Luke House. Food donations and volunteers to serve the food are needed. CTK - May 20, SP - May 21 & IHM - May 28.
