TO THE FAITHFUL OF STELLA MARIS PASTORATE,
As we approach Holy Week, we stand at the threshold of the most sacred time in our Christian year—a time to walk with Jesus through His passion, death, and glorious resurrection. This week invites us to pause, reflect, and enter more deeply into the mystery of our salvation.
Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, where we join the crowds waving branches, welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem. It’s a moment of triumph that quickly shifts as the week unfolds. Holy Thursday draws us into the Upper Room, where Jesus washes the disciples’ feet and gives us the gift of the Eucharist—His very presence among us. On Good Friday, we stand at the foot of the cross, gazing upon the love that held nothing back. Then, in the silence of Holy Saturday, we wait in hope, trusting in the promise of what is to come. Finally, Easter Sunday bursts forth with joy—He is risen, and death has no power over Him! At the heart of this week lies the Sacred Triduum: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. These three days are not merely a series of events but a single, continuous celebration of Christ’s paschal mystery. Through these liturgies, we are not just remembering history—we are participating in the living reality of God’s redemptive love.
I invite you, with your families and friends, to join us for these sacred celebrations.
Come, let us journey together through this holiest of weeks. Let us lay our hearts before the Lord, who gave everything for us, and rise with Him in the promise of new life. May this Holy Week deepen your faith and fill you with the peace of Christ.

Due to changes in diocesan needs, Bishop Hying and the seminarians will be assisting another parish and will no longer be celebrating Holy Week with our pastorate. All our liturgy times and locations will remain the same.

Spiritual Fruits of Tanzania Pilgrimage
Our first pilgrimage to our Sister Parish in Ilungu, Tanzania, in 2019 strengthened our bond, inspired many parishioners to return to church, and deepened their involvement in parish life. A second pilgrimage is planned for August 2025. Pilgrims will have the opportunity to experience spiritual growth, gain clarity and direction, find healing, and rediscover vigor and enthusiasm. Additionally, you'll develop a stronger sense of solidarity and community with your fellow pilgrims. Informational sessions will be scheduled soon. The St. Vincent de Paul food pantry serves 3,000 households each month, and the need for donations has grown. Please drop off nonperishable food (peanut butter, cereal, canned chicken/tuna) and personal care items (toilet paper, diapers, toothpaste, shampoo) in the donation bin outside the ushers room at IHM.
